Liverpool play host to Wolves in the League with the aim of re-establishing their big lead at the top of the table

Liverpool are aiming to take another step towards the Premier League title on Sunday afternoon when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Reds stumbled in their bid for glory midweek after suffering late heartbreak at Goodison Park in the Merseyside derby. Having been beaten by Championship outfit Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup fourth round last weekend, James Tarkowski’s 98th-minute equaliser at Goodison Park added to frustrations on Wednesday evening.
But Liverpool still command a healthy advantage at the summit and can rediscover their mojo at home to struggling Wolves.
The Old Gold have won their last two in all competitions but are still tussling in a relegation battle. Vitor Pereira has helped steady the ship somewhat since replacing Gary O’Neil but even the inspiration of Matheus Cunha hasn’t been able to steer them away from the drop zone thus far.
Liverpool will be without the injured duo of Tyler Morton and Joe Gomez at Anfield this weekend, with growing concerns over a lengthy layoff for the latter. Curtis Jones also misses out after being sent off in the fracas at Goodison after the final whistle.
Arne Slot was shown a red card for comments made to referee Michael Oliver, while his assistant Sipke Hulshoff was dismissed, too, but the pair are free to sit in the dugout here while they await a final verdict on their punishment.
The Dutchman will be sweating over the fitness of Cody Gakpo. During his pre-match press conference, Slot revealed that his compatriot could miss out this weekend with a knock sustained against Everton.
Liverpool predicted lineup vs Wolves (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Nunez.
Wolves find themselves light in the forward positions after injuries to Jorgen Strand Larsen and his deputy Hwang Hee-chan. The pair are still in the treatment room alongside long-term absentee Sasa Kalajdzic.
Boubacar Traore could return to the fold having been missing for almost the entirety of the season, but Enso Gonzalez, Yerson Mosquera and Leon Chiwome are all absent.
Wolves predicted lineup vs Liverpool (3-4-2-1): Sa; Doherty, Toti, Agbadou; Semedo, Andre, J. Gomes, Ait-Nouri; Sarabia, Cunha; Guedes.
