AC Milan welcome Atalanta to San Siro for an Italian Serie A fixture on Sunday. With both teams battling for European football places next season, a closely fought high-scoring match-up could be on the cards.

Milan head into this clash full of confidence after a commanding 4-0 win over Udinese with Rafael Leao and Tijjani Reijnders among the goals. That result means they are now unbeaten in five of their last six matches and move within five points of the top six.

The four-goal haul highlights AC Milan’s sharp attack as they have scored in their last 10 Serie A matches. However, Sergio Conceicao’s men have been hampered by defensive problems and are without a clean sheet in seven of their last eight league matches.

Atalanta claimed a 2-0 victory over Bologna last time out in Serie A, returning to winning ways after a three-match losing run. Gian Piero Gasperini’s men are no longer in the mix for the title but will be keen to hold on to third position in the table.

The Bergamo club have a good record on their travels and are unbeaten in 12 of their last 13 Serie A away matches. They have picked up nine wins in that run but were beaten 1-0 at Fiorentina last time out on the road.

AC Milan have a 25-13 advantage with 18 draws from 54 previous matches against Atalanta. The Rossoneri claimed a 2-1 away victory in the reverse fixture.

AC Milan will be without Mike Maignan, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Kyle Walker, Santiago Gimenez and Emerson Royal due to injuries. However, Christian Pulisic, Luka Jovic and Reijnders are expected to start.

Gianluca Scamaca, Charles De Ketelaere, Giorgio Scalvini, Sead Kolasinac, Marco Palestra and Stefan Posch are all unavailable for Atalanta due to injuries. However, Ademola Lookman, Ederson and Retegui are expected to start.

AC Milan: Sportiello, Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic, Jimenez, Reijnders, Fofana, Hernandez, Pulisic, Leao, Jovic.
Atalanta: Carnesecchi, Toloi, Hien, Djimsiti, Zappacosta, Ederson, de Roon, Bellanova, Lookman, Pasalic, Retegui.
