Al Nassr are pushing for AFC Champions League qualification in these final few weeks of the Saudi Pro League

Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nassr will begin their quest to end their Saudi Pro League 2025-25 season on a positive note when they host Al Taawoun on Friday.

Ronaldo’s wait for a league title in Saudi Arabia continues as Al Ittihad secured the trophy with two games to spare, after beating Al Raed 3-1 on Thursday.

Al Nassr fell out of contention for the title even before kick-off against Al Akhdoud earlier this week, and sits fourth in the table with 63 points from 31 games.

Al Taawoun, on the other hand, is eighth with 41 points from the same number of games.

Under the management of Stefano Pioli, Al Nassr, captained by Cristiano Ronaldo, come into this one on the back of a 9-0 demolition of Al Okhdood the other day with Sadio Mane notching four of his own. They had suffered back-to-back 3-2 defeats before that, first in the AFC Champions League against Kawasaki Frontale and then against Al Ittihad in the Pro League.

They now face an Al Taawon side that most recently suffered a 1-0 loss to Al Qadsiah last weekend due to a 61st minute own goal scored by Andrei Girotto. They are the perennial overachievers of the Saudi Pro League but the visitors have now managed just one win in their last six matches across all competitions.

Al Nassr appear in no mood to potentially let their top three spot in the Pro League slip and, with home advantage, will be expected to comfortably defeat an out of form Al Taawon side.
