Borussia Dortmund go in search of their first win at the Club World Cup as they face Mamelodi Sundowns this evening.

The Bundesliga club were held to a goalless draw by Fluminense in their tournament opener and it has left them with work to do in their bid to qualify for the knockout stages.

The Sundowns, the current South African champions, were deserved winners over Ulsan in their first match and it means they sit top of Group F after the first round of matches.

This, though, is a big step up from that match and they will need to pick up a result against either Dortmund or Fluminense if they are to make it out of the group.

Jobe Bellingham made his debut for Dortmund last time out and he will be hoping to make more of an impression here.

South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns could confirm their progression to the knockouts of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup with a win over German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund in this matchday two fixture. This Group F match at the TQL Stadium in Cincinnati on Saturday between ‘The Stylish Guys’ and Der BVB is expected to be an exciting affair. Read further for our predictions.

Brazil’s Fluminense and South Korea’s Ulsan HD are the other teams in the group. Mamelodi start this round at the top of the standings and will be confirmed in the knockouts with a victory. Dortmund are locked with Fluminense for the second spot, and a loss could be catastrophic, although it would not yet knock them out.

It was a 0-0 result for Dortmund in the first match, and they were perhaps lucky not to have lost to Fluminense. As for Mamelodi, they needed just a single goal to get past Ulsan HD. Although both teams have had low-scoring starts in this edition, this match could end up featuring goals from each side. Read more for our analysis.
