Atletico Madrid travel to Getafe in La Liga on Sunday afternoon, hoping to win and keep themselves firmly in the title race.

They lost 2-1 away to bitter city rivals Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League (UCL) last-16 tie in midweek, but are unbeaten since January domestically. They have won three and drawn three of their last six league games.

Getafe have lost their previous two league matches, but did win two in a row before that. They are currently six points above the relegation zone in 14th place, while Atletico are in second and just one point behind leaders Barcelona.

In terms of H2Hs, Atletico have won the previous four meetings, and are looking to make it five in a row against Getafe.

The two teams actually met in February in the Copa del Rey. Atletico thrashed Getafe 5-0 at home, with Giuliano Simeone grabbing a first-half brace before Samuel Lino added a third before half-time.

Angel Correa and Alexander Sorloth added further goals after the break in what was an emphatic victory for Diego Simeone’s side.

Borja Mayoral has scored twice in Getafe’s last three matches, and the hosts may need to rely on him should they wish to get a positive result.

Julian Alvarez scored an incredible goal in midweek, the 22nd in all competitions in an amazing debut season for the Argentine. An astonishing 12 of those have been the opening goals in games too, and he is 9/2 with BoyleSports to score first against Getafe.

Omar Alderete is likely to be missing through injury, but Getafe can welcome the return of Domingos Duarte.

Cesar Azpilicueta and Koke remain doubts for Atletico, but they have no fresh injury concerns from their UCL clash in midweek.
