Manchester City have won seven matches in a row

The club from Anfield not only failed to retain the title despite last summer’s expensive transfer campaign, but also struggled to finish fifth. Under their new manager, Iraola, they opened the season with a couple of draws and then were held to a 0-0 draw by Fulham in September. On the other hand, they won their remaining matches, including against Atlético in the Champions League and Tottenham in the League Cup.

The Manchester giants settled for a couple of trophies in 2025/2026, once again finishing second in the Premier League — at that point, Guardiola decided to bring this chapter of his career to an end. He was replaced by Maresca, who suffered a 0-3 defeat to Arsenal in his opening match, in the League Cup. After that, however, there were only wins, including one against Porto in the Champions League. During the international break, though, the team was found guilty of numerous violations — we will see how this affects their performances.

The former champions have been rather unexciting: just 1.4 goals scored per match and only 0.8 conceded. Haaland and company have been predictably more prolific, averaging 2.6 goals scored and one conceded.

The visitors have won all three of the most recent encounters.

An even contest is expected, but the entertainment value should not be overestimated — the “under 3.5 goals” bet looks appealing (odds: 1.6).
