The third and final practice session of the Emilia Grand Prix is complete with Lando Norris topping the timesheets

Formula 1 is back in Italy for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola as we start a European triple-header.

Miami brought the heat last time out as Oscar Piastri took a third straight victory and extended his championship lead over team-mate Lando Norris, who was second and sits 16 points behind the Australian.

Max Verstappen has fallen to 32 points adrift of Piastri after a difficult Sprint weekend in Miami but Red Bull, like most teams, will bring upgrades to Imola which they hope put them closer to McLaren.

The third and final practice session of the 2025 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix is complete with Lando Norris topping the timesheets.

In a session that did not see a huge amount of running, there were some minor offs ahead of qualifying.

Liam Lawson lost his rear as he went through Tamburello but, to his amazement, did a full spin without touching the wall and was fine to continue.

Plenty of the teams also looked to burn through mediums as they ready their tyres for the race and qualifying.

Lando Norris has ended the final practice session on top of the timesheets as McLaren continue its strong pace at Imola.

The Briton’s fastest time was exactly one-tenth faster than team-mate Oscar Piastri, who ended the session in the runner-up spot.

Max Verstappen was third and the closest challenger to the Woking-based squad, lingering just under two-tenths down on Norris’ pace.

The session was largely uninterrupted, with a couple of yellow flag deployments, including for a high-speed spin for Liam Lawson.
