Manchester City have won all seven of their home games against Bournemouth

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is likely to make changes following the FA Cup final defeat by Crystal Palace, with first-choice goalkeeper Ederson amongst those who may be recalled.

Midfielder Mateo Kovacic is a doubt after missing Saturday’s game with an unspecified fitness issue, while 19-year-old Claudio Echeverri, who made his City debut at Wembley, could make his first Premier League appearance.

Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott is ruled out by a fractured jaw and is also expected to miss the game against Leicester on the final day.

Luis Sinisterra, Enes Unal, Ryan Christie and Dango Ouattara remain sidelined.

Defeat for City would leave Champions League qualification out of their hands.

Manchester City have won all seven of their Premier League home games against Bournemouth, scoring a total of 10 goals in the past two such fixtures.

The Cherries have lost 10 of 11 matches away to City in all competitions, only avoiding defeat in a 3-3 draw at Maine Road on 6 May 1989 in the second tier.

Bournemouth won November’s reverse fixture 2-1 and are vying for their first league double against City, though they also lost 2-1 when the sides met in an FA Cup quarter-final at the Vitality Stadium in March.

City have failed to score in back-to-back league and cup games for the first time since October 2022.

The last time they went goalless in three consecutive matches in all competitions within a single season was in March 2016, under Manuel Pellegrini.

They also did so in three straight games, spanning two campaigns, between May and August 2021 under Pep Guardiola.

Manchester City have won their final home league fixture in 10 of the past 11 seasons, including each of the previous eight. Their last such defeat was a 3-2 loss to Norwich in May 2013.

City have scored 13 goals from outside the box in the Premier League this season, more than any other side.

Kevin de Bruyne is set to make his 142nd and final home league appearance for City. Only David Silva (160) has played more Premier League games at the Etihad Stadium.
