Southampton have avoided being the worst team in League history

Southampton have avoided being the worst team in Premier League history but it has still been a miserable campaign as they welcome runners’ up Arsenal to St Mary’s on the final day.
Southampton preview: Saints’ dreadful season
In their 37 matches so far this season, Southampton have managed just two victories and they have collected just 12 points, albeit that is one more than the record lowest points tally in Premier League history, set by Derby County in the 2007/08 campaign.
Saints come into this one on the back of losing the last ever men’s game at Goodison Park against Everton last weekend due to a first-half brace scored by Senegal international attacker Iliman Ndiaye.
Arsenal preview: Gunners gunning for more next year
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have once again gone trophyless this season and that is likely to have to change next season with the Gunners embarking upon a big summer transfer window following a third successive second place finish in the Premier League.
They earned themselves what was actually a much-needed win in the league last weekend as they defeated Newcastle United by a goal to nil at the Emirates Stadium last week thanks to a second-half goal scored by England international midfielder Declan Rice.
Southampton team news: Defensive doubts
Southampton have defensive issues for the visit of Arsenal. Taylor Harwood-Bellis will definitely be unavailable, whilst Jan Bednarek is a doubt due to injury and Kyle Walker-Peters has missed the last couple of games due to what Simon Rusk has described as a ‘nasty illness’.
Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Ramsdale; Bree, Wood, Stephens; Sugawara, Downes, Aribo, Welington; Dibling, Fernandes; Sulemana.
Mikel Merino has returned from a one-match suspension but the Gunners will be without defensive duo William Saliba and Jurrien Timber. They have a few other injuries, too, such as Gabriel and Gabriel Jesus.
Predicted XI (4-3-3): Raya; White, Kiwior, Calafiori, Lewis-Skelly; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Saka, Trossard, Martinelli.
