The Basques continued to improve last season. They finally returned to fourth place in La Liga, while also reaching the Europa League semifinals. However, in the current campaign, after starting with wins in August, they have barely managed to win since.
The Parisians, as usual, collected all domestic trophies in 2024/2025 and, most importantly, won the Champions League (and then, following a penalty shootout, added the UEFA Super Cup). Even now, despite numerous setbacks, they manage to lead, and there are no doubts about who will win Ligue 1.
The club from Bilbao has not impressed in European competitions either. They started with defeats, and without a chance, to Arsenal at home and Borussia in Dortmund. Even Qarabag scored first at “San Mamés,” though Athletic won 3-1. But after that, they failed to score again: 0-2 against Newcastle, 0-0 in Prague against Slavia.
The French giant started their title defense in the Champions League confidently. They consecutively beat Atalanta at home and Barcelona and Bayer away. However, they then lost to Bayern at home, losing Hakimi to injury. But against Tottenham, they won again, 5-3 in the last round.
