Milan have won half of the last six encounters, losing only once.

The San Siro giants only managed to win the Italian Super Cup last season—a weak consolation for dropping from second to eighth place in Serie A and an early exit from the Champions League. There were chances to at least partially compensate for this through the cup, but they lost to Bologna in the final.

On the other hand, Allegri, who returned to the post, got the chance to work with his players on a lighter schedule. Indeed, his team showed intentions to claim first place. They also beat Torino in the previous round. But in the cup, they lost 0-1 to Lazio, whom they had previously defeated.

The visitors were relegated to Serie B in 2024, but only to confidently win that division. Upon returning, the team has been consistently earning points to remain among the mid-table clubs. They also beat Fiorentina in the last round, and did so convincingly, 3-1.

Modrić and his new teammates are averaging 1.57 goals scored and 0.79 conceded per game. The Serie A newcomer is scoring 1.36 goals per game but conceding 1.21 on average.
