Borussia Mönchengladbach have won one out of four matches

The club from “Signal Iduna Park” only salvaged last season thanks to the replacement of the unsuccessful Nuri Şahin with Niko Kovač, who managed to lift the team to fourth place. This allowed them to play in the Champions League again, where they performed as usual.

Against Bodø/Glimt, however, they only managed a 2-1 draw. They also lost to Bayer in the cup already in the autumn. In the Bundesliga, they are fighting for second place with mixed results. Their match against Freiburg ended 1-1.

Last season, Mönchengladbach finished tenth—expectations were clearly higher. Seoane was dismissed only in the autumn after the new campaign started with a winless streak. Under Polanski, the team immediately started winning, and he became the full-time head coach… and almost immediately exited the cup. After a win over Mainz, they lost to Wolfsburg.

Guirassy and company score an average of 1.71 goals per game and concede 0.86. Their opponents’ ratio remains negative: 1.29 goals scored on average and 1.57 conceded.
