Newcastle have won three out of their last seven games

In the previous round, Manchester United continued to test the patience of their fans—after replacing ten Hag with Amorim in the Premier League, things only got worse, finishing fifteenth with 42 points. The hope of saving the season in the Europa League ended with a defeat in the final. There is some progress now, of course, but the exit from the League Cup at the hands of Grimsby speaks for itself! They even lost to Aston Villa in the last round.

Howe and his players can definitely call the 2024/2025 season historic. At last, they won a trophy—the League Cup—and finished by winning a head-to-head against Aston Villa for fifth place. This enabled them to return to the Champions League, where the English club is actively picking up points. They also knocked Tottenham out of the League Cup and succeeded against Fulham there a week ago. In the Premier League, after a difficult start, they have gradually improved. However, after a 0-1 loss to Sunderland in the previous round, they only managed a draw with Chelsea.

Matheus Cunha and his new teammates are scoring an average of 1.82 goals per game and conceding 1.65 in return. Their ambitious opponents score 1.35 goals per match and concede 1.29.
