Sassuolo have won just one of their last eight games

The capital club last season narrowly, by a single point, missed out to Juventus in the race for fourth place. This means they have to play in the Europa League once again, where they have not been without setbacks, but overall, they are actively collecting points. Under Gasperini, their Serie A form also improved significantly, even rising to the top of the table at times, though later losing ground after unsuccessful results. They also lost to Atalanta, but then beat Lecce.

Their next opponent spent last season in the country’s second division. There, they were a cut above the rest, securing first place ahead of schedule. Most importantly, upon returning to Serie A, Berardi and company have been actively earning points, establishing themselves among the mid-table teams. However, recently they have struggled to win, and lost 0-3 to Juventus.
