Lille have lost both of their last matches

The capital giant was incredibly successful last season, failing to win only the summer Club World Cup. Most importantly, Luis Enrique, among other achievements, put an end to a long-standing football quest by winning the Champions League.

Perhaps now there is a lack of motivation in the domestic arena—the team entered 2026 just slightly trailing Lens. In the last league round, PSG won, but suffered a sensational defeat in the cup. In the Super Cup against Marseille, there was only a draw, but just like in the UEFA Super Cup and Intercontinental Cup, they prevailed in the penalty shootout.

The team from “Stade Pierre-Mauroy” played in the Champions League playoffs last season. However, domestically, they narrowly lost out to Monaco and Nice, finishing fifth in the spring. Therefore, they are now playing in the Europa League, where they have already collected nine points. In Ligue 1, the battle for a top-four spot is ongoing. But they lost 0-2 to Rennes, a direct rival. In the cup, they were knocked out by Lyon after a 1-2 defeat.

The champion boasts strong stats: 2.18 goals scored per game and 0.88 conceded. One of their pursuers averages 1.94 goals scored and 1.29 conceded per match.
