PSG have won one of their last three matches

The Lisbon club claimed the “golden double” last season. But now they’ve lost the Super Cup to Benfica, and Porto have taken a clear lead in the Primeira Liga. In 2025, the Parisians won six trophies—all possible ones except the Club World Cup, but including the long-awaited Champions League. However, the new calendar year started with the favorites trailing, albeit slightly, behind Lens. In the Super Cup, they beat Marseille only on penalties, and were immediately knocked out of the cup, losing to their modest neighbor, Paris FC.

In the Champions League, the Portuguese side have actually performed well, primarily thanks to their home record—they’ve beaten not only Kairat at home, but also Marseille and Brugge. Away, they’ve managed only a draw against crisis-hit Juventus, losing to both Napoli and Bayern.

The title holders started confidently, beating Atalanta, Barcelona, and Leverkusen—the Germans were thrashed 7-2. But then they themselves lost at home to Bayern. After a 5-3 win over Tottenham, they failed to score against struggling Athletic Club, ending the match in a goalless draw.
