Marseille have won two matches in a row

The French side finished as runners-up last season. Now, they are clearly behind not only PSG, as expected, but also Lens. In the Super Cup, they put up a fight against the Parisians but lost, albeit on penalties. Arne Slot sensationally won the Premier League at his first attempt. However, in the new season, he’s faced both performance issues and a standoff with Salah. It’s already clear the title can’t be retained, but they need to try to climb back into the top four.

In the Champions League, Olympique had a tough start: three defeats, though they did beat a crisis-hit Ajax. But in recent rounds, they’ve sharply increased their chances of advancing to the playoffs. They beat Newcastle at home and Union away.

The British team looks better in European competition than in domestic play. But after a last-minute win over Atletico, they stumbled against Galatasaray. And after thrashing Eintracht and edging out Real 1-0, they suffered a shocking 1-4 loss to PSV at Anfield. Still, in December, they managed a narrow and hard-fought win over Inter in Milan.

Marseille have won two in a row
The team scores an average of 1.83 goals and concedes 1.33
Liverpool have won four of their last six matches
The club averages 1.83 goals scored and 1.33 conceded per game.

Marseille (probable line-up): Rulli – Medina, Egan-Riley, Pavard – Emerson, Paixão, Greenwood, Højbjerg, Vermeeren, Weah – Aubameyang

Liverpool (probable line-up): Alisson – Kerkez, van Dijk, Konaté, Bradley – Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Jones, Wirtz, Szoboszlai – Gakpo.

The clubs started with a draw, after which the French side won twice. Then, the advantage shifted to the English team, who won three meetings in a row.
