Barcelona have only won four times in the competition

The Catalan giants, after a trophyless season two years ago, hired Flick and went on to win all three titles in Spanish football. Initially, things did not go smoothly this season, but now they are confidently leading La Liga and in January claimed the Super Cup with victories over Athletic and Real. In the Danish capital, they managed to reclaim the title in spring. However, at present in the Superliga, they have paused the campaign in fifth place, trailing Orhus, the current leader, by twelve points.

In the Champions League, Yamal and company have not looked especially convincing. Yes, they started with an away win over Newcastle, then defeated Olympiacos and Eintracht at home. But they lost to PSG and Chelsea (a heavy 0-3 defeat to the latter), and only managed a 3-3 draw with Brugge. In the previous round, they claimed a bright 4-2 victory over Slavia in Prague.

Neestrup’s men started their journey in the summer qualifiers, successively knocking out Drita, Malmo, and Basel. But in the main stage, after a 2-2 draw with Bayer, the Danes lost three in a row—even to Qarabag—as well as Borussia and Tottenham. However, they finished 2025 on a high, defeating both Kairat and Villarreal by the same score to keep their playoff hopes alive. After a long winter break, they drew with Napoli, despite quickly being reduced to ten men.
