Edwards, 33, suffered his first loss in nearly a decade this past July when he was upset by Belal Muhammad

Following the end of his championship reign, former UFC welterweight beltholder Edwards returns to the title chase against short-notice opponent Sean Brady in the night’s five-round main event.
Edwards (22-4, 1 NC) was originally scheduled to face Jack Della Maddalena, however Brady (17-1) stepped into the bout after Della Maddalena was pulled to instead challenge for the welterweight title at UFC 315.
Edwards, 33, suffered his first loss in nearly a decade this past July when he was upset by Belal Muhammad while attempting to make the third defense of his UFC welterweight belt.
Known affectionately as “Rocky,” Birmingham’s Edwards captured the title in 2022 with an instantly iconic head-kick knockout of Kamaru Usman at UFC 278, then successfully defended it again against Usman and Colby Covington. Edwards also holds notable UFC wins over Nate Diaz, Donald Cerrone, Vicente Luque, Rafael dos Anjos, Donald Cerrone and Gunnar Nelson.
Brady, 32, likewise has been grinding his way back into title contention after suffering a 2022 upset loss to Muhammad — which remains the lone loss of his professional MMA career.
A third-round submission of Kelvin Gastelum followed by a decision win over Gilbert Burns vaulted Brady’s name back among the elite, and now the Philadelphia native hopes to earn the biggest victory of his career in enemy territory against the former champion.
In the evening’s co-main event, former UFC champion Jan Blachowicz returns against hard-hitting contender Carlos Ulberg in a battle of top-ranked light heavyweights.
